Upcoming Trainings March 14, 2008 Risk Factors: The Self Regulation Model of Sexual Offending: The Relationship Between Offense Pathways an Static and Dynamic Sexual Offense Risk (Yates & Drew 2006) Annual Meeting June 6th, 2008 Board of Directors The Board of Directors is pleased to announce an exciting training opportunity as part of our Annual Meeting this year. The Annual Meeting and Training will take place on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Hazen Drive Auditorium in the Health and Human Services Department. This year, in keeping with the changing times and developments in the field of sexual offender treatment, we are thrilled to offer a training by Pamela Yates, Ph.D. on The Good Lives Model of sexual offender treatment. In order to make the training available to as many people as possible, the training with Dr. Yates will also be offered on June 5, 2008. Those of us who were fortunate enough to attend the National ATSA conference in San Diego last fall, had the opportunity to hear Dr. Yates, an internationally recognized speaker from Canada present a keynote on The Good Lives Model, which is an emerging trend that is a strengths based approach to the treatment of sexual abusers. This is a great educational opportunity and we are excited to be bringing such high quality training to NH. Six CEU’s will be offered. Please check back here for further updates as the date draws closer. We hope to see everyone there!! |
President's Messag NH ATSA continues to be active in trying to meet the needs of our membership and to move forward with our goals and objectives for the year. In doing so we have been pretty active. A number of us attended the National conference in San Diego. It was an energizing and exciting experience for all of us and we came back armed with loads of information. Be looking forward to a training in the future on the use of the Stable and Acute 2007 Dynamic Risk Assessment, a new tool that was developed to work with the Static 99 to develop treatment targets and identify dynamic risk factors for community supervision and aftercare. Sexual Violence We have many common interests and believe that working together we can accomplish a great deal to better manage sexual offenders and to protect victims with treatment and policy initiatives that actually work at reducing recidivism.
